Recesserna is a Swedish furniture company with a focus on design, craftsmanship and sustainability. The Recesserna collection consists of chairs and tables designed by the owner of the company, Magnus Wickman, who has been working with design since 2006. Magnus has studied at Beckmans College of Design in Stockholm and worked for several years as an interior architect. After that he decided to start his own business where he could combine his passion for design with his love for craftsmanship.
TheRecesserna collection consists of several different designs that can be used both indoors and outdoors. All products are made in Sweden using sustainable materials such as American oak or sustainably sourced teak wood.
Recesserna has two main product lines: the Recess Collection and the Recess Line. The Recess Collection consists of chairs, tables and benches in various sizes, shapes and colours. The Recess Line includes outdoor furniture such as tables, chairs and benches that can be used both indoors and outdoors.

He believes that when you buy good quality furniture it should last a long time so that you can enjoy it for years to come without having to replace it too often. Magnus believes that the best designs come from collaboration between the designer and the craftsmen who produce the products. This way you can achieve something unique that no one else can do in exactly this way. It also makes it possible to use high quality materials such as leather and wood which otherwise might not be affordable if they were mass produced in large quantities. Recesserna uses only natural materials such as leather, wool felt or solid wood so that each product has its own character and feel which cannot be reproduced by using synthetic materials such as plastic or metal.
The chairs are made from high quality materials such as solid oak, birch plywood or walnut veneer. The tables are made from solid oak or birch plywood with a matte lacquer finish that ages beautifully over time. Recesserna is known for its classic designs with clean lines and simple shapes which makes them easy to combine with other furniture pieces in your home.
Sustainable design
Recesserna’s office furniture is designed to be durable, easy to clean and flexible enough for both open plan and closed offices. The chairs have adjustable backs for optimal comfort and support, as well as adjustable armrests for everyone from tall people to those who prefer a more casual position. The desktops are made from eco-friendly bamboo plywood with a protective finish that does not contain formaldehyde or other harmful substances
The office desks are available as fixed desks or mobile desks for when your needs change over time. Recesserna also offers desks that can be converted into standing desks or combined with storage drawers, shelves or screens.
